In his second outing of the year, Drake O’Bryant pitched another gem in an 8-0 win over Comanche Monday in the Panthers home opener.
O’Bryant pitched six strong innings giving up three hits and striking out 10. He faced 13 batters in the first four inning getting 10 straight outs to start the game before giving up a single to right.
Pauls Valley struck quickly scoring a pair of runs in the first.
Ty Knight double to start the game and scored on David Flores ground out. Tyler Butts who had walked in between Knight and Flores scored on Brown’s single and PV held a 2-0 lead.
The score would stay the same until the fourth when the Panther sticks got going. A leadoff single by Treston Williams got the inning started.
Jesse Williamson then had a one-out single that moved Williams to third. Cody Ward grounded out scoring Williams and Blake LeMay followed with a double that scored Williamson.
Ty Knight then double scoring LeMay and Flores single home Knight as PV grabbed a 6 run lead.
Pauls Valley ended the game in the sixth as LeMay doubled to start the inning and scored on Knight’s single. Knight would take second and third and score on a passed ball ending the game with an 8-0 win.
Knight led the offensive charge with three hits. Brown, Williams and LeMay all had two hits each and Butts, Flores and Williamson all had hits in the game.
Pauls Valley will continue their mini home stand with a game vs. Atoka this afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at Wacker Baseball Field.
