No. 1 Savages roll on

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — The No. 1 Wynnewood Savages remained perfect Thursday night with a 59-7 win over Stratford setting up the No. 1 game in the state this week with No. 2 Wayne.

Wynnewood jumped out to a 32-0 halftime lead and led 59-0 before the Bulldogs scored late to avoid the shut out.

The Savages had over 350 yards in offense led by Trey Knowles’ 129 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown.

Jace Brown continued to throw the ball around the field with 163 yards on 8-of-14 passing.

Brown found a new target this week as Wanya Wright had three catches for 112 yards and a touchdown.

Gus Reinert had 3 catches for 46 yards and a touchdown.

Curtis Rushing had 4 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown.  Pete Knowles  had one carry for 7 yards and a touchdown. Pete Carter had 3 carries for 22 yards and a touchdown.

Carter also had a 65-yard punt return. Knowles added a defensive touchdown picking up a fumble and scoring.

Wynnewood will travel to Wayne Friday night to face the No. 2 Bulldogs.
