Panthers win one, lose one

marie@pvdemocrat.com — After losing back-to-back games over the weekend in the Jeff Davis Memorial the Pauls Valley Panthers rebounded with an 8-0 win over Comanche on Monday.

 Drake O’Bryant took the mound and pitched a shutout. O’Bryant gave up no runs on two hits while striking out five and walking none.

 The Panther offense struck for eight runs, two in the first and four in the third to go along with single runs in the second and fifth.

 Pauls Valley had four hits and took advantage of six walks and a couple of errors for their runs. Ty Knight had two singles to lead the offense. David Flores had a hit and Colton Wimberly had a double.

 PV came up a run short Tuesday as they lost at Lexington 5-4 to go 1-1 so far this week. PV opens up play in the Sulphur Tournament today at noon.
