PV wins at the Brick

marie@pvdemocrat.com — Pauls Valley bounced back from Tuesday’s loss to Tecumseh with a huge win Friday night at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Drake O’Bryant gave up one run on three hits in five innings of work and PV rallied with a 4-run fifth for a 5-1 win over rival Purcell.

A one-out double in the first to Webb led to the Dragons only run of the game. Webb doubled and scored on a single.

Pauls Valley didn’t get a hit until the fourth. Treston Williams singled the opposite way to start the inning. He moved to second on a passed ball and then to third on an error on David Flores ground ball.

Williams would tie the game scoring on a passed ball.

A two out rally in the top of the fifth lifted PV to the win. O’Bryant walked with two outs and Hamilton followed with a walk.

Williams hit a bloop into shallow right field that fell for a base hit scoring O’Bryant. Baker would single home Hamilton for a 3-1 lead.

Flores doubled down the line in left and a bobble ball allowed both Williams and Baker to score for a 5-1 lead.

O’Bryant would work out of a hit-by-pitch in the fifth for the win.

Pauls Valley will be hosting a Spring Break Tournament March 20-22 at the Wacker Park Sports Complex.
