The Maysville Warriors had a big game offensively with over 340 yards but four turnover proved to be costly in a 45-28 road loss to Empire Friday night.
Maysville was well balanced on offense with 183 yards through the air and 158 on the ground.
Trey Willoughby was 14-of-25 for 183 yards and had three touchdown passes and also ran in for a fourth. His favorite target was once again Dakota Henry who had four receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown. Derek McGuire had 67 yards on three catches, Cale Bailey had 35 yards on two catches with one touchdown and Kaleb House had 5 catches for 5 yards and a touchdown down.
On the ground, Willoughby had 75 yards on 13 carries with the one touchdown. McGuire had 69 yards on 10 carries and Dalton Elmore had 11 yards on 9 carries.
Maysville did give up 292 yards on the ground to the potent Empire ground attack and the Bulldogs finished with 312 total yards.
Dakota Henry had a huge game defensively with 19 tackles, two for loss and an interception. Bryce Jensen was also in double figures with tackles with 11, three of which resulted in loss of yardage. Zach Ashbey added 7 tackles; Jonahton Akins 6 and Cale Bailey and Zane Deviney had 5 each.
The Warriors host top 10 Minco out of Class A. The Bulldogs defeated highly rated Wayne 43-0 Friday night.
