Gibson, Webster pace Pugs to win

marie@pvdemocrat.com — Josiah Gibson and Aaron Webster combined for 510 of the Paoli Pugs 630 yards in  Friday’s 62-36 win over Geary.

Gibson had 333 yards on 21 carries with four touchdowns and Webster had 177 yards on 16 carries with three touchdowns.

The win gave the Pugs a third place finish in the district and a first round playoff game at Pond Creek-Hunter.

The game was tight through the first two quarter with Paoli clinging to 34-30 lead. Paoli came out of the locker room in the second half and exploded for 20 third quarter points to put some distance between them and Geary.

The Pugs finished with a 26-point win and a trip to the Class B playoffs.

Blake Hashagen led the defense with 13 tackles. Tra Robertson added 12 and Will Stewart and Gibson both had 9 each.
