OSBI arrests man who plays Santa for lewd proposal

GUTHRIE — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a 49-year-old man who portrays Santa at area schools has been arrested for alleged lewd proposals to a child.

The OSBI said Wiley Gene Davis was arrested following an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.

Online court records indicate Davis was formally charged Monday in Logan County with lewd acts proposals to a child under 16, violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The records do not indicate whether Davis has an attorney.

Davis allegedly responded to a Craigslist ad he believed was posted by a 15-year-old girl and made lewd proposals, even referring to himself as “Santa.” He was arrested at a convenience store where he planned to meet the girl.
