Community Calendar for March 4 - 8

SUNDAY

Elmore Band

Elmore Masonic Lodge #533 and the Elmore City Band Boosters will host a chicken fried steak dinner to benefit the band at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, March 2 in the EC-P school cafeteria. Funds will go toward the purchase of a new French horn.



WW Baseball

To help with expenses for the Wynnewood High School baseball, newly formed junior high and softball teams the Wynnewood Dugout Club and Masonic Lodge will host a pulled pork dinner at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, March 2 at the WHS cafeteria.



PV Revival

New Life UPC, 223 Airport, will host featured guest Bro. Rick Phillips during a revival at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2.



MONDAY

Historical Society

A PV Historical Society meeting will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9 at the depot. A program will be presented on a Stratford effort to renovate the old Main Street Bank into a museum.



In-Person Absentees

In-person absentee voting for March 4 elections in Whitebead and Lindsay is available at 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, March 3 at the Garvin County Election Board in the county courthouse.



Arts Council

The Pauls Valley Arts Council will hold a general membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 3 at the Toy and Action Figure Museum. All members of the PVAC and anyone interested in the arts in PV are encouraged to attend. Call PVAC President Lanny Stanley at 238-3709.



Whitebead Book Fair

The Whitebead School library is hosting a scholastic book fair during school hours Monday-Thursday, March 3-6, and during a been and tamale supper at 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 7.



EC Angel Food

Orders for the Angel Food program in Elmore City can be made at 5-6 p.m. Monday, March 3 and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 8 at the First Methodist Church in EC. Orders may be picked up at 9-10 a.m. March 29.



WW Rodeo Queen

The Wynnewood Roundup Club is now accepting queen candidates for a July 10-12 rodeo. Single girls between the ages of 13 and 21 who can ride a horse are eligible. The deadline is 2 p.m. March 14. Call Donna Hudson at 580-247-0601.



Grief Support

Valley Hospice and Pauls Valley General Hospital will offer the next grief recovery support group on Monday, March 3 at the hospital's Loftin Conference Center. The group will continue to meet at 4-5 p.m. for teens and 5-6:30 p.m. for adults through March 10. For more information, call 238-6142 or 800-738-6142.

TUESDAY

Relay For Life

A Relay For Life team captains' meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4 at the Loftin Conference Room at PV General Hospital.



Soup Suppers

St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 1800 S. Walnut in PV, will host soup suppers each Tuesday evening (6:30 p.m.) during Lent. The suppers will go through March 11.



THURSDAY

Whitebead Enrollment

Enrollment for preschool and kindergarten at Whitebead School will be held at 9 a.m.-noon Thursday, March 6 in the auditorium.



Lupus Support

FRIDAY

Beans for Books

Whitebead PTO's Beans for Books, a bean and tamale dinner fundraiser, will be at 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 7 the Whitebead auditorium. Advance tickets are available from Whitebead students or at Your Framers.



SATURDAY

Medical Clinic

The Good News Medical Clinic will be offered at 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 8 at the Garvin County Health Department. The service is for those who have no medical insurance or other means of health care.



Bridal Fair

The Pauls Valley Economic Group is sponsoring the Winner Take the Cake Bridal Fair at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 8 at the Bosa Community Center. At 11 a.m. there will be a style show and at noon an arm wrestling competition for a prize package.
