Mavis Jean Dixon

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Mavis Jean Dixon, 79, of Wynnewood passed away December 30, 2012 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.

She was born September 14, 1933 in Sulphur to Jim and Nita Burrows. Mavis was raised in the Sulphur and then Pauls Valley area. In 1948 she and Guston L.E. Dixon were married in Wynnewood. They moved to California where they lived for 33 years. In 1985 they returned to make Wynnewood their home.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 3 at Wynnewood First Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Lynn Phillips.

Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

The church welcomes the community Friday to their Tenebrae service at 7:30 p.m., that features a concert and narrative with the combined efforts of First Presbyterian Church.
