Elsie A. Merritt

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Elsie A. Merritt of Ada passed away January 28, 2014 in Ada, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years.

Elsie was born April 24, 1930 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Alvey Peasley and Lillian (Cox) Peasley.

She was raised in the area of Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Later moved to California where she began working as a Nursing Assistant in June 1954. She and Robert Allen Merritt were married. He passed away on January 4, 1984.

She later retired in 1995 and moved to Oklahoma where she has lived in the Elmore City and Pauls Valley area for a while and later made her home in the Ada area.

She was a member of Amazing Grace Pentecostal Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents Alvey and Lillian Peasley; her husband Robert Allen Merritt; and 3 brothers Alfred Peasley, Raymond Peasley and one as an infant, Carl Peasley.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Sister Pat Coffey.

Services in Pauls Valley are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Funeral service and interment in Blackduck, Minnesota will be under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Homes in Blackduck, Minnesota.

The Pauls Valley Panther Prep Team finished second in the OK Kids State Tournament losing in the championship game to Weathford 11-9.
