Julia Poole Embree

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Julia Poole Embree of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, passed away June 12, 2014 at the age of 78.

Julia was born in Longview, Texas on September 24, 1935 to James Moreland and Nina (Field) Poole.

She and Billy Wayne (Bill) Embree were married on December 23, 1955 in Cumberland, Oklahoma.

Julia attended Southeastern Oklahoma University and lived in Laurel, Mississippi, Fort Smith, Arkansas and Enid, Oklahoma before moving to Pauls Valley in 1969.

Julia began work at the Nora Sparks Warren Library in Pauls Valley in 1981. She spent 31 wonderful years working there before taking a leave of absence in 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Embree and her son Lloyd Embree.

Surviving family includes her son Wayne Embree and wife Tammy (Cope) Embree; her daughter Kathy (Embree) Syversen and husband Bill; grandchildren Billy Embree, Matt Syversen, and Jessica Syversen; sister Diane (Poole) Trisdale; and brother Jim Poole and wife Nora.

In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials be made to the Nora Sparks Warren Library in Pauls Valley.

Visitation was held at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Wednesday, June 18, 2014.

Graveside services will be held at Cumberland Cemetery at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014. Interment is under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
