Guston L E Dixon

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Guston L E Dixon, a resident of Wynnewood, Okla, passed away on Friday July 11, 2014 at his home at the age of 84. Guston was born in Wynnewood on May 2, 1930 to Artie Aleta (White) and Jackie Diberal Dixon.
Guston married Mavis Jean (Burrows) on November 8, 1948 in Wynnewood. He went to work for Cooper Farms in Ardmore, Okla., at an early age and spent the rest of his life in that line of work.
He and his family moved to California in January of 1953. He worked for McLanahan Dairies in Santa Maria, then around 1958 they moved to Torrance, Calif., where he worked for Quinn’s Dairies, and later for JMB Dairies in Chino, Calif.
After retirement they moved back to Wynnewood in 1985. Although retired, he still continued to work for various ranchers helping tend their cattle. Along with his love for cattle and cattle work he loved cow dogs as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mavis Jean Dixon on December 30, 2012; brothers Franklin Dee Dixon and Clifton Ray Dixon; sister Shirley L. Gilley; daughter in law Pam Dixon; and sisters in law Margaret Dixon and Wanda Dutton.
Survivors include two children: Guston Eugene Dixon and his wife Colleen of Orlando, Fla., and Kenny Dixon and his wife Vickie Nabors of Pauls Valley, Okla.; 5 brothers and spouses: Floyd and Shirley Dixon of Wynnnewood, Robert and Sue Dixon of Wynnewood, Gerald and Deborah Dixon of Wynnewood, Dib and Charlene Dixon of Wynnewood, and Cletues and Dena Dixon of Wynnewood; one sister and spouse, Lelia Mae and Jesse Spurlock of Midwest City; brother in law Herb Dutton of Lindsay; sister in law Luan Adams of Wynnewood; 3 grandchildren: Kenny Dixon Jr. and wife Angel of Wynnewood, Chad Dixon of Florida, and  Kimberly Nabors and husband Russell of Springdale, Ar.; 6 great grandchildren: Morgan Dixon, Emily Nabors, Nathan Nabors, Shea, Magen, and Jaxson; as well as a host of neices, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday July 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wynnewood, Okla., officiated by Rev. Lynn Phillips.
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, OK. DeArman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Please send online condolences to
