Robert Wade Burnett

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Robert Wade Burnett, 41, was born on September 20, 1972 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Robert Burnett and Lola Green Burnett and passed away January 25, 2014, in Yukon, Oklahoma at the home of his sister, Cristi Burnett Heath.

Wade spent his much of his childhood in Norman, Oklahoma. For a time during his early teens, he lived with his Aunt Mary Burnett in Pauls Valley and attended Whitebead School.

Wade will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and his ever-present smile and positive outlook on life. He maintained all these qualities throughout the hardships he had endured for the last four and a half years after a tragic accident had left him a quadriplegic.

Wade is survived by his father Robert Burnett of Pauls Valley, mother Lola Green of Choctaw, and sister Cristi Burnett Heath of Yukon, who was his devoted caregiver for much of the last four and a half years of his life.

He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, son, nieces, a host of cousins, aunts and uncles, and step-children and step-grandchildren.

Wade was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Paula.

There are two memorial services planned. The first will be conducted at the Bridge Church in Mustang, Oklahoma on Friday, January 31 at 2 p.m.

Following the service in Mustang, there will be a gathering to celebrate Wade’s life at The Pig Shop in Pauls Valley, Friday evening at 5:30 p.m.
