Dale Hughes

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Jess Dale Hughes of Shawnee, Oklahoma was born to Jess Dale and Marianne Cleland Hughes Jr. on March 2, 1949 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma and passed from this life on February 16, 2014 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years.

Dale grew up and attended school in Elmore City, Oklahoma. He attended college at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.

On February 29, 1980, Dale married Carolyn Bounds in Gainesville, Texas. Together they made their home in the Mustang/Yukon area. They later moved to Singapore and lived there from 1993 until retiring to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1996.

Dale was Vice President of Sales at Seagate and retired in 2000. Dale and Carolyn moved to Pauls Valley after his retirement and lived there until 2010 when they purchased a home in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

In his spare time he enjoyed his family, expecially his grandsons, OU athletics, golf, woodworking and doing yard work. The highlights of his life was his marriage to Carolyn and his travels during his career.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home; son Joe Felan and wife Jill of Harrison, Arkansas; sister Charlotte Williams and husband Charles of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren Dakota and Canaan Felan; and a special niece Jessica Hughes Williams of Norman, Oklahoma.

Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his parents Jess and Marianne Hughes.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Buzbee officiating.

Interment will be in the Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.

Offering Prayer

Taking a moment to pray before the offering, First United Methodist Church Pastor Mark Watson shared some very good news about the kids who participated in their Vacation Bible School recently. The kids collected donations from their peers every evening managed to raise just short of $1,000 for clean water in India.
