Ronald Jay Willeford

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Ronald Jay Willeford of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to J.T. and Oneita P. (Powell) Willeford on September 21, 1941 in Greenville, Texas and passed from this life on May 3, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years.

Ronald grew up and attended school in Illinois, Wynnewood, Oklahoma and graduated from Elmore City High School.

He then served his country in the U.S. Air Force having served in Vietnam and Korea. Mr. Willeford retired from the military in 1981. After his service in the military, Ronald worked for Haliburton and the Pauls Valley State School where he retired in 1999.

On February 15, 1965, Ronald married Donna J. Graham in El Paso, Texas and together they made their home in Elmore City, Oklahoma for many years.

In his spare time he enjoyed boxing, gospel and church singings. The highlights of his life were his family and serving the Lord.

Mr. Willeford is survived by his wife Donna of the home; son Kip R. Willeford of Elmore City, Oklahoma; daughter Kim Portwood of Royse City, Texas; 1 brother, Chuck Ray Willeford and wife Debrah of Texas; and 1 grandson, Skylar Jay Portwood.

Mr. Willeford was preceded in death by his parents J. T. and Oneita Willeford, and sister Joan Boudreau.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Mt. View Full Gospel Church in Foster, Oklahoma with Rev. Clyde Quick officiating.

Interment was in the Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.

The Pauls Valley Panther Prep Team finished second in the OK Kids State Tournament losing in the championship game to Weathford 11-9.
