Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Oneta K. Goss of Pauls Valley passed away April 4, 2014 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years.

Oneta was born March 27, 1924 in Ringling, Oklahoma to A.C. and Cleo Inez (Hammons) Wade. She grew up in the Ringling and Mountain Home areas and at the age of 16 moved with her family to Wynnewood.

In Wynnewood she worked as a Clerk at Mayberry’s, and for a time she worked at the Pecan Factory. She also worked at O’Neal’s Jewelers in Pauls Valley.

Oneta loved to dance and sing. She enjoyed recalling times when she, her dad, and brother, Steve, played and sang in a family band. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing at the Fred Astaire dance studio. In her later years she never missed an opportunity to sing along when musicians and choirs visited The Willows and Washita Valley Living Center.

The day before she passed away her and her brother, Steve, enjoyed yodeling songs together.

Oneta was an avid traveler. She and her late husband, Earl, enjoyed traveling to Hawaii. After Earl’s death she often joined her sister, Myrna, on many family vacations. She also had the opportunity to travel with friends to Europe, and a cruise down the Panama Canal, as well as a steamboat cruise down the Mississippi River.

Oneta was a beautiful person inside and out. Her favorite color was red and she liked to wear it often. She enjoyed planting lots of beautiful flowers in her home garden, particularly red roses. Oneta always had a smile on her face and never missed an opportunity to let her loved ones know how much she loved and cared for them. She also loved sharing her love of Jesus with others.
