Floyd Roy Goodson Sr.

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Floyd Roy Goodson Sr., age 76, of Oklahoma City passed away February 16, 2014. He was born December 22, 1937 in Pauls Valley.

Floyd married Freeda Lee on May 6, 1960 in Gainesville, Texas. He enjoyed working on and racing cars, especially Volkswagens. Floyd loved his little Yorkie grandpuppy, “Bruiser.”

He was a public school teacher for many years and after retiring from teaching, sold textbooks to schools, then finished his career in purchasing with various companies in Ardmore, Pauls Valley and Shawnee. Floyd was a kind-hearted man and he loved his family very much.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Freeda Goodson; son, Floyd Roy Goodson Jr. and wife Kara; 2 grandsons Harrison and Cameron Hancock; son-in-law, Larry Hancock; and a host of loving family members and friends.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ava Goodson; his daughter, Brenda Kay Hancock; and 2 brothers, Ernest and Joe Goodson.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at Windwood Freewill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Okla. Viewing will be held at John M. Ireland Funeral Home in Moore, Okla.
