Panthers find success on the track

marie@pvdemocrat.com — The Panthers have had some success on the track in their last two outings.

Friday at the Pauls Valley Invitational, Blake Wolfe was the only gold medal winning but seven other places in the top five. Wolf won the pole vault in a jump of 12-0. Jake Hamilton was fourth with a jump of 10-6.

Ty Jordan was second in the shot with a throw of 45-9 and third in the discus with a toss of 117-0. James Jones was third in the long jump with a jump of 19-0.5. Nathan Wood finished fifth in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:14.12.

The 4x800 meter relay team was third in a time of 9:05.59 and the 4x400 meter relay team was 4th in a time of 3:44.08.

On Tuesday at the Canadian Valley conference meet, Ty Jordan finished third in the shot and 6th in the discus with throws of 46-6.5 and 115-3 respectively.

The 4 x 800 meter relay finished third in a time of 9:00.00.

Jones was fourth in the 400 meter dash in a time of :53.74.

Logan Woodell was 6th in the 3200 meter run in a time of 13:01.81 and Wolfe was sixth in the pole vault.

Offering Prayer

Taking a moment to pray before the offering, First United Methodist Church Pastor Mark Watson shared some very good news about the kids who participated in their Vacation Bible School recently. The kids collected donations from their peers every evening managed to raise just short of $1,000 for clean water in India.
