Ryan Glen Bastholm Peacock

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Ryan Glen Bastholm Peacock of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma was born to Richard and Kathleen (Payne) Peacock on January 9, 1984 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and passed from this life on April 30, 2014 near Byars, Oklahoma at the age of 30 years.

 Ryan grew up and attended school in Dewey, Oklahoma until the sixth grade. He graduated from Elkins High School in Missouri City, Texas.

On February 3, 2006, Ryan married Erica Reneé Simmons in Sugar Land, Texas and made their home in Houston, Texas.

 Ryan was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and a Department of Corrections officer. He served in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan while Erica and their children moved to Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.

 Upon his return home from the military, he served as Director of the Toy and Action Figure Museum. Ryan assisted in starting the International Superhero Day. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping, re-enactments, and playing the drums.

The highlights of his life were obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout, serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sacramento, California in American Sign Language, and most importantly his children.

 Dear to Ryan was sharing with others his faith in God’s love and Jesus Christ’s atoning sacrifice.

Mr. Peacock is survived by his wife Erica Reneé Peacock of the home; 2 sons: Payton Versel William Peacock and Blake Ashton Reuel Peacock; daughter Araya Joy Peacock; and parents Richard and Kathleen Peacock; 5 brothers: Rhett and wife Alexandra, Adam and wife Paula, Jared and Amy, Darin and wife Catherine and Benjamin and wife Kerri; and 5 sisters: Malynda Carter and husband Mark, Angela Rau and husband Clint, Malissa Cook and husband Derek, Alisha Umeki and husband Tomohiro and Debbie Peacock.

 Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 5, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.

Interment will be on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Ft. Sill National Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.

Offering Prayer

Taking a moment to pray before the offering, First United Methodist Church Pastor Mark Watson shared some very good news about the kids who participated in their Vacation Bible School recently. The kids collected donations from their peers every evening managed to raise just short of $1,000 for clean water in India.
