Strong showing for Garvin County at Regionals — Pauls Valley, Maysville and Wynnewood all had something to celebrate at Saturday's regional track meet.

The Pauls Valley Lady Panther success continued on the oval Saturday as they captured the Class 4A regional track title in Cache.

The Lady Panthers scored 150 points finishing 18 points ahead of second place Elgin.

Pauls Valley won five gold medals and will have girls running in 13 different events in Moore this weekend at the state meet.

The relay events proved to be the difference in the meet. Pauls Valley finished first in the 1600 meter relay with Madeleine Crawford, Mady Thompson, Mariah McClellan and Claire Grimmett finishing in a time of 4:11.24.

The 800 meter relay and 3200 meter relay both finished second. Crawford, McClellan, Alexus Waddles and Thompson finished in a time of 1:49.29 in the 800 meter relay. Crawford, Kaylie Upton, Samantha Cozart and Grimmett finished in a time of 10:21.03 in the 3200 meter relay.

The 400 meter relay qualified for state with a fourth place finish. Tristen Ledbetter, McClellan, Waddles and Thompson finished in a time of :52.08.

Individually, Pauls Valley had three girls qualify in the long jump. Ledbetter was the regional champ with a jump of 15-10.25. Whittni Huckabaa was third with a jump of 15-2.75. Grimmett was fourth with a jump of 15-00.

Two girls qualified in both the high jump and Discus. Mary Beth Balcerak was the regional champ with a jump of 5-4 in the high jump. Upton was fourth with a jump of 5-0.

Madelyn Caldwell was a double gold medalist winning the discus with a toss of 128-0.5 and the shot with a throw of 38-.0.75. Jazmine Mudhar finished third in the discus with a toss of 98-11.

Grimmett also won gold in the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 48.82.

McClellan qualified in the 200 meter dash with a fourth place finish in a time of 26.60.

Upton finished third in the 400 meter dash in a time of 65.65 to qualify.

Crawford qualified with a fourth place finish in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:34.56.

Kaci Holt finished third in the pole vault to qualify with a jump of 9-6.

Prep Team Finish
