Floy M. Madison

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Floy M. Madison of Pauls Valley passed away January 23, 2014 in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years.

Floy was born September 12, 1928 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma to William Robert Douthit and Esther (Brinkley) Douthit.

She was raised in the Cement area where she attended school and lived most of her life in Oklahoma City.

She and Malcolm Lloyd Madison were married in Chickasha, Oklahoma on December 14, 1946. Later they moved to Lake Eufaula where she lived for about 11 years, then Stratford for about 10 years. Floy worked in several healthcare facilities as a Cook. In 1996, they moved to make Pauls Valley her home.

She was baptized in 1947 and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Surviving family include her husband of over 67 years, Malcolm Lloyd Madison of the home; two daughters Floetta Vaughn of Purcell and Betty Smith and her husband Sterling of Wynnewood; three sisters Velma Jones of San Antonio, Texas, Linda Pauline Clark of Lawton and Oleta Young of Seiling; one brother Charlie Douthit of Pampa, Texas; one half-brother Donnie Brown of Rush Springs; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Floy was preceded in death by her parents; a son Malcolm Leland Madison; brothers Doil, Raymond, Robert, Haskell and a brother that was an infant.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Stufflebean-Coffey Chapel of Remembrance officiated by Rev. Jim Adams.

Interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

Offering Prayer

Taking a moment to pray before the offering, First United Methodist Church Pastor Mark Watson shared some very good news about the kids who participated in their Vacation Bible School recently. The kids collected donations from their peers every evening managed to raise just short of $1,000 for clean water in India.
