Jo Donihoo

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma — Gelotta EmoJene Donihoo, 88, was born in Van Buren, Arkansas on June 7, 1925 to Thomas LloydFleming and Edna Jackson Fleming.

On March 10, 2014, Jo joined her God and reunited with her beloved husband, her parents, other family members and friends who have preceded her in death.

Jo lived in Pauls Valley as a small child and then relocated with her parents to several other communities as her father managed natural gas plants throughout the Midwest. Jo returned to Pauls Valley when she was 17 and made this her home for the next 71 years.

Jo’s family preceding her in death include her husband J.U. Donihoo, her father Thomas Fleming and her mother Edna McChesney as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Jo leaves behind, for a time, her cherished family including her son David and his wife Pat Donihoo of Noble, Okla.; her grandson Phillip Donihoo of Pauls Valley; her daughter Debbie Donihoo of Pauls Valley and her adored former son-in-law Victor Banks of Westminster, Colo.

In addition to her family and friends, Jo was devoted to and took great pride in serving her church, supporting her community and in building hercareer.

As an active business person in Pauls Valley for over 40 years, she also dedicated her time and energies to numerous organizations and causes.

Among those most dear to Jo were the Pauls Valley General Hospital Auxiliary and The Donihoo-Colley Complex where she served as Chairperson of the Board from 1988 until her retirement from this position in late 2010.

Jo’s memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Pauls Valley First Presbyterian Church. A private family graveside service will follow. Services will be officiated by Dr. Harry Millard and Rev. Tom Buzbee.
