This weekend is the time for one very big food drive to come to Pauls Valley and other parts of Garvin County and the region.

Letter carriers from area post offices in more than 190 cities in central and western Oklahoma will “Stamp Out Hunger” on Saturday, May 13 by collecting canned food donations from households on their route.

In Pauls Valley donations benefit Delta Community Action Foundation in partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

To help with the cause fill the plastic donation bag you receive in your mailbox this week, or any plastic bag, with canned food donations and place them by your mailbox before your letter carrier arrives on Saturday. Your letter carrier will do the rest.

There are 193 cities in central and western Oklahoma participating in the Letter Carriers’ Food Drive.

In Garvin County there are Lindsay, Maysville, Pauls Valley, Stratford and Wynnewood.

Since 1993, the Letter Carriers’ Food Drive has raised more than 9.7 million pounds of food for residents in central and western Oklahoma.

For more information about the Letter Carriers’ Food Drive, ask your letter carrier, contact your local post office, or contact Natalie Wood at nwood@regionalfoodbank.org or 405-600-3174.
