Residents in five Garvin County towns, including Pauls Valley, are invited to participate in an annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive coming next weekend.

Led by letter carriers and the Postal Service, the drive is on Saturday, May 13.

Food items left by mailboxes that day will be collected by letter carriers. Donations in PV go to a food pantry serving all of Garvin County.

• Chapter #641 TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets weekly at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the First Church of God in PV, 414 N. Chickasaw. For more, call 405-238-0068 and ask for Lorraine.

• The Weight Watchers of PV meet weekly at 6 p.m. Mondays at the Reynolds Recreation Center.

• Members of the PV Masonic Lodge #6 meet for dinner at 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of the month at the lodge, 101 Mason Lane.

• The First Baptist Church in PV offers a food pantry from 4 to 4:30 p.m. every Monday for emergency assistance to PV residents in need.

• Anyone interested in donating coats to the Coats for Kids program in PV, call Linda Dutton at 405-926-7442.

• To sign up for emergency text alerts in Garvin County type in the mascot for schools in the county to 888777. You can be notified up to five communities in the county. Alerts will come from the county 911 dispatch center.

• A weekly recovery meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Crossroads Church, formerly Higher Ground, in PV. Call Shelby at 405-834-2010 for more.

• A weekly community dinner in Elmore City is offered to the public at noon Thursdays at the EC Community Center. The sponsor is Big Iron.
