A six-figure bond has been given to a Lindsay teenager after he was accused this week of rape.

Eighteen-year-old Edgar Gonzalez Batres was given a $500,000 bond after a single charge of first-degree rape was filed against him in Garvin County District Court.

Batres is behind bars on the big bond on the allegation he raped a woman at a Lindsay residence earlier this week.

An affidavit filed in the case shows Lindsay police were contacted about the rape allegation early Tuesday afternoon, April 9.

Officers report traveling to an Oklahoma City hospital to talk to the woman about her claim of being sexually assaulted.

She told them it all started after she had broken up with a boyfriend, which led to her and a friend getting some alcohol and returning to her residence to drink.

She said Batres, who her friend was dating, joined them later.

It was Batres' alleged comment about wanting to have sex with the woman that led her to ask him to leave the residence.

A short time later the woman says Batres returned, where she claims he pushed her to the ground and pulled her pants down.

She later told authorities she started screaming for help when Batres is alleged to have put his hand over her mouth and said to her, “'If you don't shut up I'll hurt your kids when I'm done with you.'”

The woman said she blacked out when the rape began.
