A festival with Pauls Valley and Whitebead kids at the center is now just a couple of weeks away.
It's called Love PV, which for the second year has local volunteers working to raise enough money to ensure each PV and Whitebead student has school supplies waiting for them when the first day of the next school year arrives in August.
A community festival for the Love PV drive is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29 in Wacker Park.
The event with free admission will feature kid-friendly booths, local bands and singers taking to the outdoor stage, bouncy houses, a water game zone, food trucks and retail booths.
Summer holiday events are also on the calendar in Pauls Valley and Lindsay.
In Lindsay it's Freedom Fest coming on Saturday, June 29 at the George Brown Municipal Park and Golf Course about three miles north of Lindsay.
Times are noon to 10 p.m. as the fireworks show there is set for dusk.
The event in Pauls Valley again comes right on July 4th with live music at the local football stadium with a fireworks show that night around 9 p.m.
The PV Arts Council will hold auditions for the play “Dearly Departed” from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, June 24-25 at the PV Arts and Cultural Center at the corner of Paul and Walnut. The play will come in late August.
The PV Ministerial Alliance holds a 5th Sunday “Gathering,” a time for churches to come together for prayer, at a local church to be announced.
The next one is scheduled for 6 p.m. June 30 at the old Cornerstone Church building, Charles and Earl streets.
