This month's regular meeting time has been canceled for the Garvin County Democratic Party because of the festivities and possible travel plans for the July 4th holiday.
At the party's most recent meeting on June 22 delegates from Garvin County reported on their participation in the state Democratic convention.
They reported on the election of the first African American state party chair, Alicia Andrews.
The next Garvin County Democratic Party meeting is now set for a 10 a.m. start on Saturday, Aug. 3 at the Reynolds Recreation Center in Pauls Valley.
As for the Garvin County Republican Party, its next meeting comes much sooner.
The Republicans here normally hold regular meetings at 7 p.m. the second Monday of the month at Christian Life Church in PV, 820 S. Walnut.
The next one is planned for July 8. Call 405-207-4337 for more information.
A couple more roles are expected to be filled soon for the cast of a live performance coming to Pauls Valley later this summer.
“Dearly Departed,” which is actually being directed by Renee Mackey-Myler, is a Pauls Valley Arts Council Theater (ACT) production coming on Aug. 23-25.
Auditions for most of the roles were done last week with just a few more remaining.
Anyone interested in being a part of the ACT team, whether in set design and building, costumes, sound and lighting, stage help or assisting during performances, contact Renee Mackey-Myler at firstname.lastname@example.org.
