It was a scurry of activity the moments leading up to today’s official opening for the brand new water park at the Reynolds Recreation Center in Pauls Valley.
Open it did as parents and their young kids made up the initial wave of people coming through the gates for day one of the long-anticipated aquatics center complete with water slides.
Among those leading the charge was aquatics supervisor Billy Tomlinson.
“It’s been crazy getting ready,” said Tomlinson as he directed the busy activity moments before the pool facility opened for the first time at high noon.
“We’re just ready to get it open, to rock and roll.”
With an opening late in the summer season, the pool facility will be open daily through Aug. 14 before going to weekend hours.
Fees for park visitors are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for youth ages 4 to 14. Children 3 and under are free.
