Workers clear limbs from power lines as they work to restore the power in Pauls Valley Wednesday afternoon.

A storm packing quite a punch slammed into Pauls Valley leaving tree damage all over the place and an entire town without electrical power.

Crews began working not long after early Wednesday morning’s storm, but it remains uncertain when the power will be restored for local homes and businesses.

Until that power returns Pauls Valley officials want the public to know anyone with medical needs requiring electricity should go to the local Reynolds Recreation Center.

“The rec center, anyone with a medical need that requires electricity, it is available,” PV Police Chief Mitch McGill said.

“Just go there and plug in.”

Both McGill and City Manager James Frizell say the recreation center in Wacker Park will utilize a generator to keep the facility open 24 hours a day until power returns to the community.
