We have hit the ground running! This is the first time I can think of that we are playing two regular season football games in the month of August, and our Panthers started out with a 19-18 victory over longtime rival Lindsay last week.
Our junior high teams will have their first home game of the season when they host the Purcell Dragons on Thursday, Sept. 6.
The 7th grade game will kick off at 5 p.m. followed by the 8th grade and finally the freshmen game will be the last of the evening.
Our fast pitch softball teams are entering the midway point of their schedules with the high school team sitting at 9-8 after winning four of five last week, including wins over 6A Putnam City North and Edmond Santa Fe.
They brought home a third place finish in the Murray County Bash earlier this season.
The junior high softball team is on the rise, and will play at home again on Tuesday, Sept. 11th when they host Lone Grove.
If you enjoy fast paced ball, you need to take in a fast pitch softball game.
Our cross country teams will begin their fall schedule Thursday, running in the Purcell Dragon Invitational.
For the first time we are fielding junior high cross country teams. Their first meet will be Sept. 4 at Marlow where they will compete for the Arbuckle Conference Championship.
Our high school marching band, The Pride of the Valley, can be enjoyed both during pregame as well as at halftime of our high school football games. Our four-time state champion band is as good as it gets in Oklahoma high school bands.
We host over 60 sporting events during the school year and that can be pretty costly. To help you save money we are selling season passes at the high school office.
A season pass allows free admission into any home athletic event we host, both junior high and high school for the entire school year. The adult pass costs $75.00 with the student pass being $45.00.
I encourage you to make time to attend some of our kid’s events this year.
The kids and coaches put in a lot of hours in practice to compete in the name of our school, your attendance makes their experience so much better.
