It’s amazing how quickly the year has gone. I have always been told that time flies when you are having fun! We do have fun and enjoy the children at Jefferson Early Learning Center.
We are already into the fourth nine weeks. Students are continuing to work to get their name and picture on the red WOW wall.
Pre-K students are learning letters, sounds and sight words.
Kindergarten students are striving to learn their sight words.
It is important for students to practice at home as well to be successful. Parents and teachers must work together as a team.
We sprang into action the third nine weeks as well as we battled the flu and other sickness.
We celebrated the 100th day of school in January. Kindergarten students were encouraged to count to 100 independently. Pre-K students made necklaces using 100 Fruit Loops. Students dressed as Dalmatians on the 101st day of school.
We attended the Missoula performance at the high school on January 25. It was fun seeing some of our JELC classmates perform.
Parents and special guests were entertained by Pre-K students on Valentine’s Day in a musical program led by the teachers and assistants. Everyone enjoyed Valentine parties that afternoon. JELC ended the third nine weeks excitedly with Spring Break.
This last week JELC students had a great time on their field trip in Norman.
They were led on a fast-paced, memorable journey through the Jungle and Rain Forest in a musical concert by Stephen Fite. Students were active participants in this celebration of music and learning. After the concert, they had a picnic lunch and played at Wacker Park.
April will be another busy month.
Pre-K early enrollment will be at Jefferson Early Learning Center on Thursday, April 4 from 9 to 12. This is for children who will be 4 on or before September 1, 2019. Parents will need to bring the child’s social security card, original birth certificate and immunization record.
There will be no school on April 5 and 19.
We will attend the 6th annual Earth Day Celebration at the fair building on April 18.
At the end of the month students will go to the junior high for the PV art show. They will have make-and-take activities as well as viewing the junior high and high school art work.
The school year will be over before we know it. We are thankful we get to be a part of each child’s education at JELC.
