Two thousand nineteen rung in and has whirled since, much like our Oklahoma winds. Our teachers and students have been busy and productive.

We are always proud to share the many awesome happenings at PVJH. Winning at competition and life, our staff and students continuously make us proud.

In January, our district had a professional development day. On this day, one of our very own teachers was recognized.

Mrs. Melissa Blubaugh, PVJH Teacher of the Year, was named the Pauls Valley District Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Blubaugh is an excellent teacher who inspires and motivates students. We are incredibly proud of her and beyond blessed to have her educating our students.

Parent/teacher conferences were February 20-21. A special “thank you” to Panther Sidekicks for providing pizza for teachers and staff. The meal was very much appreciated.

Now for just a glimpse into the busy lives of our students.

The junior high students have finished winter sports and are transitioning to spring sports.

A “shout out” to the PVJH freshmen girls basketball team for being recognized as the Canadian Valley Conference – South Division Conference Champs. Good job!

PVJH cheer team competed in state competition in February. For the second year in a row, they were named 4A State Champs! We are super proud of them!

Student Council has been busy with service learning. In February, they visited The Willows and treated the residents to candy and bingo. This month, they held a Cafeteria Appreciation Day where the kitchen staff were treated to food and gift cards.

Other happenings in March included many students shining in the county livestock show, the high school band qualifying for state competition, and over 100 students attending the Accelerated Reader movie reward.

Next week our students will have the opportunity to meet Anna Myers, a well known Oklahoma author, courtesy of a Foundation for Excellence grant.

At the end of the month, our seventh graders will attend Camp Goddard.

With teachers and students hard at work in the classroom and an abundance of activities weekly, it does not seem possible that spring break will be here in a week. Wow!

Spring forward! Have a great week!
