Sam Halverson picked a great time to hit his first home run of the season. With two outs in the top of the fourth, Halverson got it all. He hit the first pitch he saw over the right-center fence giving the Panthers a 7-1 lead as they rolled to an 11-1 win over rival Wynnewood. Halverson finished with two hits and three RBI’s in the game.

Caleb Meave, Claeb Livingston and Dylan Norman combined to pitch a three hitter. Wade McCurley led off the second inning with a single for Wynnewood and eventually scored their only run of the game.

Livingston opened up the game with a one-out double. Carter followed with a single that moved Livingston to third. Meave then doubled to right on the first pitch he saw scoring Livingston easily and moving Carter around to third. Halverson’s grounder on the infield scored Carter.

Dylan Norman walked and instead of taking just first he hustled around to second and the throw to second allowed Meave to score from third. Norman moved around to third on the throw home but he was stranded there as PV took a 3-0 lead.

Wynnewood cut the lead to 3-1 as McCurley singled and scored in the bottom of the second.

Pauls Valley got a run in the top of the third. With two outs Norman walked. He stole second, reached third on an error and scored on Bo McKee’s single.

With one out in the fourth, Livingston walked and Carter followed with a walk. Livingston would score on a passed ball and Carter would score on Halverson’s shot over the center field fence.

Wynnewood would strand runners in scoring position in the fourth and fifth innings.

Pauls Valley would strand runners at second and third in both the fifth and sixth innings but couldn’t get anything across until the seventh, when PV scored four more runs.

Ethan Gilbert got the inning started as he was hit by a pitch with one-out.

Terry Sanders reached with a bunt single to put runners at first and second. A double steal advanced the runners 90-feet and Gilbert scored on Livingston’s single. Livingston stole second as both he and Terry scored on Ryan Carter’s single. Carter moved to second and scored on Meave’s single for 4-run inning.

Norman came in and got three quick outs in the seventh as PV won for the 10th time of the season.

PV will face Madill this afternoon in their final home game of the season. Three seniors will be honored between the varsity and JV games.
