Lady Panthers capture conference championship

Medalists at the Arbuckle Conference Meet on Sept. 5 were Rhylee Tucker, Savannah Freeman, Aja Assad, Katlyn Davenport, Tori Agee, Cailen Jolley, Giselle Zavaleta, Matthew Harris, Corbin Davis, Ben Dobbins. 

For the second straight cross country meet the Pauls Valley Lady Panthers won top honors.

The Lady Panthers won the Arbuckle Conference Championship at Purcell this week.

Seventy-three girls from nine differenct schools participated in the 1.4 mile race.

Cailen Jolley finished fourth in a time of 9:01; Katlyn Davenport was ninth with a time of 9:20; Gisselle Zavaleta 10th in 9:25; Savannah Freeman 12th in 9:36; Aja Assad 13th in 9:37; Tori Agee 14th in 9:39 and Rhylee Tucker 22nd in 9:54.

Team scores were: PV- 49, Konowa-85, Lindsay-88, Washington-99, Sulphur-99, Velma Alma-116, Purcell-169, Wynnewood-238.

On the boys side, Ben Dobbins cruised in with a time of 10:18 in the two-mile course to capture first play in the 53 person field. Corbin Davis was 16th in a time of 11:40 and Matthew Harris 22nd in 11:53.

The next meets for the teams ran at Elgin Friday morning and will be in Lindsay at the Canadian Valley Conference on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
