Madill rallies past Pauls Valley late

The Pauls Valley Panthers had their chances Monday afternoon in a key 4A-3 district battle with Madill at Wacker Stadium. Tied 1-1 going into the fifth, Madill plated a single run and then added three more in the seventh for a 5-1 win over the Panthers.

Madill, 10-13 overall and 5-8 in district play, hosted Pauls Valley, 5-13 and 4-9 in district play, on Tuesday.

Pauls Valley jumped out quickly as Jared Turner doubled in the bottom half of the first and scored on Justin Humphrey's one-out single.

Humphrey pitched well all evening working out of a no out bases loaded jam in the second inning and with runners in scoring position in the first and sixth innings.

Madill tied the game a 1-1 in the third inning. Sisco singled, stole second and scored on a ground out to second.

The Wildcats took the lead in the fifth as Bruster walked, moved to second on a passed ball and scored on a double by Coble.

Madill added three insurance runs in the seventh. A one-out single by Coble started the rally and then doubles by Coble, McHatton and Stephenson netted three runs and a 5-1 lead and win.

Humphrey went the distance with six strikeouts and three walked batters.

Cobble went the distance for Madill with seven strikeouts and one walked batter.

Cole Campbell paced the Panther offense with two hits. Humphrey had a hit and an RBI in the game. Turner had a hit and a run scored. Gavin Crouch, Elijah Barlow and Landin Weilenman each had hits.

Cobble paced the Wildcat offense with three hits and two RBIs. McHatton, Stephenson, Williams and Sisco each had two hits add Coble added a hit.

Pauls Valley is scheduled at Chickasha on Friday, at Purcell on Monday and at Bethel on Tuesday.
