The Maysville Warriors ended a two-game skid and wrapped up a playoff spot with a 54-34 win over Fox Friday night. Gunner Aprill had a huge night with 454 in total offense with five total touchdowns.
Aprill was 7-of-14 with 199 yards passing and three touchdowns and had 255 yards rushing on 28 carries with two touchdowns.
In all, Maysville had 545 yards, 199 passing and 346 rushing.
Ty Wilmot led the receiving corps with two catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns and had 22 rushing yards. Gunner Chambers had four catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Damon McCallister had 33 yards rushing, Kaedon Wyatt 31 yards rushing with a touchdown and Seth Jenson had a one-yard touchdown run.
The game was tight early on with Fox scoring first and Maysville answering with a pair of touchdowns. Fox cut the lead to 16-14 before a late touchdown by Maysville gave them a 24-14 halftime lead.
Maysville extended their lead to 32-14 early in the second half. Fox answered with back-to-back touchdowns as they cut the lead to 32-28 in the middle of the quarter.
Maysville would scored three straight times, one late in the third and two in the fourth for a 52-28 lead.
Fox would score late to cut the final margin to 52-34.
Maysville will travel to 1-7 Thackerville on Friday night as they finish up the regular season
